15歲的小洲是個心思細膩的少年，內心暗湧著對自由與自主的渴望。1996年的台海飛彈危機，如陰影般籠罩日常。家中經濟因為股票下跌與經濟恐慌影響，父親的土地開發投資未來難料，家中的氣氛愈加緊張。 小洲隱瞞著父母，偷偷地在撞球間打工，認識了小幫派的頭頭扣子。當父親發現小洲偷抽菸與背地裡打工，父子之間的縫隙裂開成難以互相理解的鴻溝。
